Frank sent me a book so I would stop asking him so many Question.

Butterfly's

 The back of quilt with butterfly's .

 Front of quilt, this was a quilt as you go and it was fun and easy. 

 As you know I am not a great quilter but for ever trying.

My lines didn't match up for some reason so the butterfly's were just the thing to cover up.

I will keep trying to make a quilt that will one day pass inspection. 

I Was Cleaning Out ( Up Date)

my sewing boxes and some of the things were my mothers 30 years ago.
(Frank said Grants has been closed 40 years. He worked for them.)

 Remember the T G&Y store   and Grants stores? 

 These electric scissors were made in Switzerland I don't remember mother using them

but they don't work now, we tried them. The snaps came from Grants.

 many buttons from Wal-Mart 67 cent and bought for 25 cents.

 Buttons from J H B International 67 cents

 lots of thread from T G & Y some still have the wrapper on them and  never been used.

By Loving Touch 100% nylon transparent thread  never opened 75 cents

Working With New Toys

These are some of my Hexagon's

The little iron works great on them.

 

 

 Some of the colors that I have cut out . 

I am trying to use up a lot of my stash, very tired of some of it.



New Quilting Toys

This is a Mini iron  that I will use on the hexagon so are the fabric single, needed more color.
And the Best press is a clear starch to use in the
Aqua-flo brushes .  Then the basting needles are for quilting.
I am going to have fun today hope you do to.

This is no. 3 in the Aunt Dimity books. Great bed time reading.

Not Much More to Go

With the quilt as you go lap quilt . Next I will sew the binding on and add  the butterfly's to the back.

This has been different , I liked doing the blocks that was easy.
The long sides will have to be hand quilted or not. 

Mothers book on Vegetables

I was looking for something to do with Eggplant.

Came across my mothers old book.

 A 1970's Farm Journal

I had forgotten so many ways to fix vegetables. When we were kids 

we ate lots more vegetable then now. Daddy grew a large garden and

so did my grandmother as I looked at the book I saw many dishes mother and grandmother made.

I love to read cookbooks.

This was made for A Daughter

The back of the crayon quilt was yellow.

 The top quilt was made from this,  I didn't want to make so many

of the stars

So I made tulips to feel in.
